Welcome to Devens Massachusetts
Live – Work – Play
Devens Massachusetts is not quite a town but surely has that small-town community vibe. The former Fort Devens Military base closed in 1996 and what was left was a planned community by MassDevelopment which acts as the governing body over the residents and multiple companies that call Devens home.
Although there is still a military presence here with the National Guard and Reserve forces training facilities in the back of the old base by the highway it does not take away from the small-town feel.
Devens at present time is pushing a population of almost 2000 and is the home for many large sports tournaments from Lacrosse, Ultimate Frisbee, Soccer, and more. Along with the spectacular Red Tail Golf Club, Devens has multiple recreational fields that can be leased for all kinds of events other than sports including Food Truck Festivals, Devens Family Fun Day, The Bay State Games, and others.
Check out the Devens Community website for more info on all events and more of what Devens has to offer.
Although living in Devens is a little different than living in a regular town we have a nice small community with no police department or town hall. As mentioned before this is a planned community by MassDevelopment out of Boston. To learn more about living in Devens click here.
Devens is home and has been home to some of the biggest names in the business. Boston Mechanical Services, Little Leaf Farms, and Bristol Myers Squibb all call Devens home. Devens seems to be on its way to the future with a new campus and headquarters on the way for Commonwealth Fusion. Read more about businesses and working in Devens here.
Sports Tournaments and Devens Massachusetts seem to go hand in hand. Some of the largest Lacrosse & Soccer tournaments come to Devens each year. Devens is host to The Bay State Games, Legacy Lacrosse, Boston Ultimate Disc Alliance, and more large tournaments. With some of the largest fields around thousands of competitors from around New England arrive here to compete.
